Description

This course will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to teach children about healthy eating and how to use food preparation skills safely to make a couscous salad.

The course is designed to meet the Holiday, Activity and Food (HAF) programme Standards for holiday provision, specifically those related to food, healthy eating and nutrition. The course content is also suitable for anyone running food activities with children in holiday or after-school clubs.

The course will:

  • provide you with healthy eating and nutrition information around how to have a healthy balanced diet;

  • guide you on how to teach children about healthy eating through games and a practical food activity;

  • show you how to safely and hygienically run a simple food activity that demonstrates how to make a healthy balanced dish (a couscous salad), using peeling, grating and snipping skills.
